Overview

With many organisations finding the heat is now on like never before for achieving targets, cutting costs and not rocking the boat, many HR managers, line managers and coaches alike are likely to meet increasing tension, confrontation and raised tempers amongst the people they support. Being able to navigate through a brewing storm before destruction takes over calls for quick effective thinking in the moment.

Following the popularity of the practical ideas shared in our recent workshops, join us for our next interactive event at which a wide range of practical tips, 'micro-tool' techniques and approaches will be profiled and experiences shared for dealing with a host of conflict management scenarios in the moment.

Topics touched on will include:

We are delighted to welcome two guest speakers to present at this event, Lindsay Wittenberg and Chris Hanney, both specialists in their fields of leadership development and critical incident management.

This workshop is relevant for anyone who may occasionally need to confront conflict in the workplace. HR managers, mediators, coaches and top team leaders will benefit, but so too will line managers, project managers and anyone who sometimes find themselves having to intervene in a developing staff dispute.

Lindsay Wittenberg is an executive coach specialising in leadership development, conflict coaching and career development. She works with leaders and managers who are faced with new or difficult challenges and conflicts, and who need to change ineffective patterns (but often don’t know how).

Working frequently with people who are in some sense ‘on the edge’ she goes beyond what simply shows on the surface: as a result her clients achieve the results they want - sustainably and with confidence. Lindsay provides coaching, development programmes and masterclasses across a range of sectors including policing, regional and local government, health, law, charities, banking, financial services, accountancy, brand management, energy, and retail. She has worked with organisations as diverse as the Metropolitan Police, the NHS, Reuters, UBS, the Greater London Authority, AON, Gaz de France (Britain), Homebase, Sony Ericsson, Unilever and Atkins Global, besides a range of medium and small organisations.

She holds an Advanced Diploma with Distinction in Professional Coaching and Mentoring, Certificates in the Psychology of Coaching and Gestalt Coaching Skills, and the EMCC’s European Individual Accreditation at Senior Practitioner Level. A French speaker, she worked and lived in Luxembourg for 13 years, and has also lived in France and Israel, engaging with conflicts inherent in working across cultures.

Chris Hanney often needed to deal with violent and volatile confrontations as a former firearms officer with the London Metropolitan Service. It was in these potentially highly dangerous circumstances where he honed the skills that he'd learned to defuse many highly charged and emotive situations.

A Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and trainer of NLP trainers, Chris's varied qualifications include a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy, being a qualified Practitioner in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), being awarded a Post-Compulsory Certificate of Education (PCCE - Cert Ed) by the University of Greenwich, and serving as an accredited coach and coach supervisor.

As a coach and instructor for the Met's Leadership Academy, Chris has taught, coached and mentored from senior management to grass-roots level within the organisation, as well as developing and giving presentations for a variety of internationally recognised bodies including the EMCC and CIPD.

Co-host Jackie Keddy will also facilitate one of our popular improvised demonstrations, directed by delegates!
